March 2006 Homework
Here is some of the outstanding work submitted by our 1st year students.
Cancer
He’s glossy-shelled and active, this giant-nippered Crab
Super smooth and self-possessed, he is inclined to grab
The constant Moon’s his Ruler; his life is ebb and flow
Once he’s found the pearl of life, he’s reluctant to let go.
Emotional and moody, he hides behind his shell
Vulnerable and cautious, he’s sensitive as well
Determined and unwavering, once he’s set his goal
He’ll feel his way, relentlessly, using self-control.
He’s looking for acceptance, for a single word of praise
Should he feel neglected, he’ll stare with a watery gaze.
His keyword is tenacious, he avoids large groups and throngs
The Family’s his foundation, his intuition’s strong.
When young, the Crab is shy, he hides behind a mask
He needs a lot of bear hugs, that is his parent’s task.
He loves tales full of fantasy and the mystery of the sea
Imagination stirs his soul; it’s a place where he feels free
He cannot bear rejection, don’t tell him what to do
His memory’s like an elephant; it’s an emotional review.
He needs a safe environment with affectionate display
He feels the world around him, his cooking is gourmet,
He’s a keeper of convention, his family he protects
An enigma in a crab shell, there’s no-one he neglects.
And if the Crab’s in love, don’t burst his magic bubble
For he gets hurt so easily, then there’s only trouble!
He might send you on a guilt trip, if so, just call a cabbie
Pack your bags and go, for things get pretty crabby.
The Moon is light reflected so if you are his Sun
He’ll be a tender lover, there’s no comparison.
If disaster strikes his family, if bad times touch a friend
He’ll be the first one there – on this you can depend.
Because he’s sympathetic he’s easily abused
One can take advantage, calls for help are not refused.
He waxes and he wanes ‘tween despondency and doubt
He lives in rhythmic cycles, his life’s a roundabout.
He can be very psychic, the occult fascinates
Yesterday attracts him, to the past he gravitates.
He never is direct, his approach to life is sideways
If he’s didn’t reach his goal, he’ll be in his crusty hideaway.
The Crab can be a mimic, he can also be a Star
But if alcohol’s his problem, his fall’s spectacular.
Try not to offend him, he’ll sulk, he’ll brood and pout
He’ll put a sign upon his shell, not welcome – go – stay out.!
The adult Crab’s expressive, he loves to act in plays
But if there’s no encouragement, he’ll disappear for days.
The Crab is gentle, caring, compassionate in support
He’s loyal, kind, reliable, he craves to give comfort.
The Crab will help a stranger, like our astrological champion
Who guides his listeners every week, it’s 2GB’s Ed Tamplin.
A Crab’s life isn’t easy, if you want to live with him
You’d better buy a costume, cause it’s either sink or swim.
